About the job

As the Swiss Banking Ombudsman, we act as a neutral and independent information and mediation centre within a team for disputes between banks and their customers. We are also the contact point for the search for unclaimed assets. To strengthen our team, we are looking for you as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement as

Lawyer 80-100%

In this responsible position, you will handle demanding disputes between banks and their customers, legally sound and neutral. The topics range from fraud cases to international payments, investment transactions, and mortgages. You analyse complex matters, develop viable mediation proposals, and represent these to banks as well as to domestic and foreign customers and their legal representatives, orally and in writing, appropriately addressed and with a focus on the essentials.

Your profile

• Completed law degree and admission to the bar.
• Professional experience in civil law as well as experience or strong interest in banking business.
• Quick comprehension and strong analytical skills, also when familiarising yourself with new areas of law.
• Careful, efficient, and independent working style.
• Very good German or French skills, good English skills. Italian is an advantage.
• Interest in new technologies and openness to co-develop AI-supported working methods in legal practice.
