Social Worker 80% (m/f/d), fixed-term in Adliswil ZH
Caritas Switzerland has been operating, since March 2024 on behalf of the cantonal social office, among other locations in Adliswil (Sihlau), an asylum centre with space for around 140 people (individuals and families). The Social Work/Case Management department is responsible for case management for persons in asylum care and public social assistance. To strengthen the committed team in case management, we are looking for a social worker.

Your tasks
In this versatile role, you support and advise residents of asylum accommodations in the canton of Zurich in challenging life situations – solution-oriented, respectful and on an equal footing.
- Comprehensive social counselling in the areas of integration, housing, family, health and finances
- Accompanying and supporting people in the asylum and refugee sector
- Triage and cooperation with specialist agencies, authorities and institutions
- Independent case and file management in the case processing system Tutoris
- Preparation of social assistance budgets and administrative case processing
- Mediation of rights and obligations in social assistance and asylum care
- Ensuring the subsidiarity principle (social insurances, support services etc.)
- Active participation in the team as well as attendance at inter- and supervision sessions
Our requirements
- Degree in Social Work, Social Pedagogy (or comparable qualification)
- Further training in case management and/or integration topics is an advantage
- Experience in social counselling and enjoyment of complex issues
- Knowledge of social assistance law
- Knowledge of integration services in the canton of Zurich is an advantage
- Very good oral and written German skills as well as good oral skills in another national language and/or English and/or an asylum language
- Confident handling of digital tools; experience with Tutoris is an advantage
- Intercultural competence, negotiation skills and team spirit
- Structured, resilient and self-organised working style
- Professional attitude balancing empathy and assertiveness
Workplace is in the canton of Zurich.
