Your tasks
Operational management
- Overall responsibility for the daily operational business
- Ensuring smooth operation during opening hours
- Active participation during important service and peak times
- Coordination of daily processes and responsibilities
- Ensuring opening and closing procedures
- Organisation in case of short-term staff absences and operational problems
- Consistent implementation of existing processes and standards
- Continuous optimisation of operational procedures
- Ensuring a professional and guest-oriented appearance
Personnel management and deployment planning
- Creation of work, holiday, and deployment schedules
- Economic planning of personnel deployment
- Leadership and development of employees
- Management of the deputy operations manager and shift leaders
- Conducting regular team and management meetings
- Recruitment of new employees in consultation with ownership
- Organisation and control of new employee onboarding
- Organisation of internal training
- Monitoring working hours, absences, and holiday balances
- Conducting employee appraisals
- Promoting a binding, respectful, and solution-oriented team culture
- Early information to ownership in case of personnel issues
Quality, hygiene and organisation
- Ensuring product, service, and hygiene standards
- Monitoring cleanliness, order, and appearance
- Checking correct preparation and serving of products
- Implementation of menu, product, and process changes
- Monitoring compliance with legal and internal requirements
- Handling guest feedback and complaints
- Organisation of necessary repairs and maintenance work
- Reporting major technical or operational problems to ownership
Inventory management and orders
- Monitoring goods flow and stock levels
- Checking orders and deliveries
- Organisation and evaluation of regular inventories
- Avoiding overstock, shortages and food waste
- Monitoring goods costs
- Initiating appropriate measures in case of deviations
- Maintaining operational cooperation with existing suppliers
- Checking prices, delivery conditions and product quality
Cash register and administration
- Responsibility for correct operation of the cash register system
- Cash register programming and maintenance of items
- Recording new products and prices
- Checking daily closings and cash discrepancies
- Clarification and documentation of discrepancies
- Checking and forwarding incoming invoices
- Handling the central operational e-mail account
- Ensuring orderly operational filing
- Coordination with accounting, payroll administration and ownership
- Maintaining relevant operational systems and information
Reporting and controlling
- Preparation of the biweekly operational reporting
- Checking and commenting on key operational figures
- Monitoring sales, goods costs, personnel costs and productivity
- Analysis of operational deviations
- Development and implementation of concrete improvement measures
- Monthly discussion of results with ownership
- Immediate information in case of major financial, personnel or operational deviations
- Providing necessary information for partners and ownership
Accounting, payment transactions, payroll administration and monthly financial closing are handled by the CFO or accounting department.

- Several years of professional experience in the hospitality industry
- Leadership experience in a dynamic operation

- Understanding of inventory management, personnel costs and operational key figures
- Strong organisational and leadership skills

- Confident use of digital systems
- Very good German language skills
- French language skills are an advantage for the Biel location
