VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional Director, POS, Omnichannel, Marketplace Engineering to join our Digital and Data Technology team based in Stabio, Swithzerland.

The Director, POS, Omnichannel and Marketplace Engineering is a senior engineering leader responsible for the strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of VF's retail commerce technology ecosystem.
This role leads the engineering organization responsible for Point of Sale (POS), Omnichannel Commerce, Marketplace Integrations, and related retail commerce services that enable seamless customer experiences across physical stores, digital channels, and third-party marketplaces.
The Director will define the technology vision for the domain, build and develop high-performing engineering teams, and drive the modernization of retail commerce platforms to support VF's global portfolio.
Success in this role requires a combination of strong engineering leadership, retail technology expertise, organizational development, and the ability to align technology investments with business priorities across a complex, multi-brand environment.
How You'll Make A Difference
Strategic Mandate
- Define and execute the technology strategy for VF's retail commerce platforms across stores, eCommerce, and marketplace channels.
- Drive modernization through cloud-native architectures, event-driven integrations, automation, and platform engineering practices.
- Enable scalable omnichannel experiences through real-time inventory, order, and customer data synchronization.
- Accelerate marketplace growth by simplifying integrations and reducing time-to-market for new channels.
- Establish engineering standards, governance, and operational excellence across all commerce platforms.
- Champion AI-driven innovation to improve engineering productivity, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
Engineering Leadership
- Lead and develop a globally distributed engineering organization responsible for POS, Omnichannel, Marketplace, and Integration platforms.
- Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and technical mentorship.
Technology Strategy & Architecture
- Own the roadmap and architecture for retail commerce platforms, including POS, marketplace integrations, and omnichannel capabilities.
- Drive adoption of cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven architectures.
- Promote platform standardization, scalability, security, and operational resilience across brands and regions.
Business Partnership
- Partner with Retail, Digital Commerce, Supply Chain, Marketplace Operations, and Data teams to align technology investments with business priorities.
- Influence senior stakeholders on strategic roadmaps, investment decisions, and technology transformation initiatives.
- Translate business objectives into scalable engineering solutions with measurable outcomes.
Delivery & Operations
- Lead execution of strategic programs using agile delivery models.
- Ensure platform reliability, performance, security, and compliance.
- Oversee incident management, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across retail commerce systems.
Skills For Success
Required
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, retail technology, or digital commerce platforms.
- 5+ years leading globally distributed engineering teams.
- Proven experience defining and executing technology strategies in large-scale retail or commerce environments.
- Strong expertise in retail commerce technologies, including POS (Oracle Xstore, Aptos, New Black), marketplace integrations (Rithum/ChannelAdvisor), order management, and cloud-based platforms.
- Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure), microservices, Kubernetes, APIs, event-driven systems, and modern integration frameworks.
- Experience delivering scalable omnichannel solutions supporting multiple brands, regions, and channels.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, DevOps, platform reliability, and security.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
Preferred
- Experience in global retail, consumer products, or multi-brand organizations.
- Experience leading omnichannel and marketplace transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge of AI-enabled retail capabilities such as personalization, forecasting, intelligent order routing, or marketplace optimization.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices.
- Master's degree in a related discipline.
