Software Developer C++/Qt (m/f/d, 80–100%)

The family business HCH. KÜNDIG & CIE. AG, based in Rüti ZH, has existed for over 150 years and currently employs around 60 people. Since 1972, the specialist department KÜNDIG CONTROL SYSTEMS has been developing and manufacturing measuring and control devices for blown film extrusion. Thanks to continuous technological advances through in-house developments, the company has become the world’s leading manufacturer in this field.

You will develop the cross-platform application software of our measuring systems using C++ and Qt/QML. The focus is on Windows on the industrial PC, but the same codebase also runs on our embedded Linux devices. From hardware-near control to the user interface, you will see your work directly on the device and help shape the future direction of our products.

Your profile

• Education in computer science, electrical engineering or a related field (FH, ETH, HF)
• Confident in C++, experience in cross-platform development (Windows/Linux)
• Experience with or enthusiasm for GUI development with the Qt/QML framework
• Experience with embedded Linux, Yocto/Buildroot or similar is an advantage
• AI is not a foreign word to you: you work with coding assistants, know their strengths and limitations, and want to make more of it
• Mechanical engineering understanding and enjoyment where software meets mechanics
• Quick comprehension, solution-oriented and independent working style
• Enjoyment of agile methods (Scrum), teamwork and knowledge sharing
• Good German skills, English for documentation and international contacts

Your tasks

• Implementation of application logic and user interface with C++ and Qt/QML, cross-platform for Windows (industrial PC) and embedded Linux
• Conceptualisation and further development of software architecture and design
• Conducting architecture, design and code reviews within the team as well as creating automated testsMaintenance and further development of the embedded Linux platform of our measuring systems (build system, updates, system integration)
• Active participation in our AI-supported development: agents, skills and automations along our GitLab toolchain
• Bringing AI know-how into the team. Trying out ideas, co-defining standards, enabling others
