The Directorate for Security, Environment and Energy is committed to safety, protection and assistance, environmental protection, sustainable energy supply and is responsible for building permit procedures as well as the Bern Zoo. Schutz und Rettung Bern unites the professional and militia fire brigade of the city of Bern, the Bern rescue service and the civil protection organisation Bern plus. It operates the emergency call centres 118 and 144. The prevention and intervention areas of Schutz und Rettung Bern provide the best possible safety and protection around the clock – in the federal city, the Bern agglomeration and the canton.

What you will achieve

• You accompany the planning of events, demonstrations and sports events from a safety perspective and coordinate dates, responsibilities and requirements with the parties involved
• You review safety concepts and assess them particularly with regard to fire protection, intervention and rescue services
• You participate in coordination meetings, inspections and approvals, represent the interests of Schutz und Rettung Bern and ensure the follow-up of agreed measures
• You create and maintain deployment plans for the rescue service and ensure that deployment-relevant information is passed on in good time
• You work on projects and in the further development of fundamentals and use feedback from events to continuously improve planning and communication processes

What you bring

• You have completed a commercial basic education or equivalent training
• Further training in the field of fire protection is an advantage and ideally you have experience in the blue light sector, event management or deployment or safety planning
• You have good knowledge in assessing safety concepts as well as in deployment and event planning
• You communicate confidently and convincingly, can bring together different interests and appear competent to organisers, authorities and partner organisations
• You have very good PC user skills
