About us

The Communication & Marketing Department (AKM) is part of the Rectorate and is responsible for the internal and external communication of the University of Bern. The project management area within AKM is the central unit for the conception and control of communication and marketing projects. It develops communication and marketing concepts, advises organisational units and is responsible for interdisciplinary projects from planning to implementation. It ensures that the measures are implemented purposefully, coordinated and effectively.
Your tasks
- Development of communication and marketing concepts, plans including storytelling, resource estimation, implementation and scheduling
- Collaboration as well as commissioning and monitoring the implementation of individual measures according to the developed communication and marketing concepts
- Independent conception and supervision of projects on assignment
- Conducting general communication and marketing consultations
- Collaboration in the strategic planning for communication & marketing of the entire university
- Procurement and application of existing data as a basis for concept development
- Budget management
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree and function-specific further training or comparable education in communication and/or marketing
- Proven project management skills
- Proven competencies and experience in developing communication and/or marketing concepts
- Experience in leading medium and large projects
- Proven storytelling experience and skills
- High digital competence, especially regarding AI
- General consulting skills
- Good general education and strategic thinking ability
- Language skills: very good German and English, French an advantage
- Confident appearance and excellent manners
- High social competence
- High flexibility and willingness to perform as well as assertiveness
- Experience in the university environment an advantage
