As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Basel, we are immediately seeking a motivated and committed Operations Engineer Utilities for a temporary assignment of 1 year, with the option to extend.
We are looking for a Professional Process Engineer / Operations Engineer in the Operations Engineering team at Roche. The scope of work includes Building 091/095 in the PNAE area (Process Auxiliary Systems / Utilities) in operations and project engineering. The ideal candidate has solid experience as a Process Engineer or Operations Engineer with profound process engineering expertise, especially in the areas of pure media, steam, and energy. In addition to technical knowledge, strong helpfulness, team spirit, good manners, and a confident appearance are essential. Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written, complete the profile.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement process engineering solutions and optimisations
- Responsible for meeting deadlines, costs, and achieving project goals
- Compliance with and assurance of cGMP requirements within investment projects and operations engineering
- Responsible for optimisations, modifications, and technical support of the complex and demanding chemical and biotechnological production facilities; realisation of investment projects from initial project definition to handover to the operator
- Responsible for active pharmaceutical ingredient production (batch processes as well as continuous manufacturing processes)
- Participation in a project team within an interdisciplinary technical environment
Must Haves
- University degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Initial experience in GMP and pharmaceutical sectors
- Very good general IT skills (Microsoft, Google Workspace)
- Fluent German and good English skills, both spoken and written
- Positive-thinking, honest, and self-reflective personality with strong team skills
- Openness to new ideas and questioning conventional thinking; enjoyment of a performance-oriented work environment characterised by mutual respect, open discussion, and collaboration
- Communicative and decisive personality with persuasiveness, assertiveness, and enjoyment of independent work
