Automobile Specialist EFZ, Commercial Vehicles Specialisation

Activities

Automobile specialists carry out system tests on commercial vehicles with combustion engines and alternative drive concepts and perform maintenance work. In addition, repair work on vehicle systems is part of the job-specific tasks. These systems include chassis, engine and drive, as well as electrical, electronic, comfort and safety systems. For commercial vehicles, compressed air systems are also checked and programmed. Furthermore, components for trailer operation and various body systems are maintained.

Training

• 3 years apprenticeship
• 1 – 1.5 days vocational school per week
• 40 days inter-company courses during the apprenticeship

It includes the following five areas of competence

• Inspection and maintenance of vehicles
• Replacement of wear parts
• Support of operational processes
• Inspection and repair of systems
