Baxiva is a biotech startup developing next-generation glycoconjugate vaccines to prevent infections caused by Gram-negative bacterial pathogens. Your role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Scientist, Bioconjugation and Process Development to join our vaccine development program. You will work hands-on in the lab, developing and optimizing processes in our vaccine manufacturing pipeline.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Design and execute purification, functionalization, and conjugation of vaccine components in preclinical quality
• Establish analytical frameworks using HPLC and biochemical assays for characterization of components and conjugates in terms of purity, composition and structure
• Drive process optimization to create glycoconjugate vaccine candidates from lab-scale to manufacturing readiness
• Collaborate across disciplines and across the team to solve complex technical challenges and advance our lead program

Your profile

We're looking for someone who takes initiative, delivers high-quality results, and approaches challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset. You enjoy tackling complex problems and working in a team to drive real-world impact.

You bring:

• PhD in biochemistry or a related field, or MSc with relevant industry experience
• Extensive experience in protein purification and characterization, ideally including protein conjugation chemistry
• Hands-on experience with FPLC/HPLC systems
• Experience with polysaccharide purification, glycoconjugate vaccines, or process development is a strong plus
• Affinity for method development and the ability to independently execute lab work
• High level of accuracy, organization, and documentation skills
• A collaborative spirit and strong communication skills
• Proficiency in English
