Head: SRK Asylum and Refugee Service Uri
Join us in advocating for a more humane world!
For our Asylum and Refugee Service in the canton of Uri, based in Altdorf on the beautiful Lake Lucerne (only 40 minutes from Lucerne), we are seeking from 1 June 2026 or by arrangement a motivated and professionally skilled individual as Head of the SRK Asylum and Refugee Service Uri 80 - 100%.
What you can achieve
- Leadership of the SRK Asylum and Refugee Service Uri with 80 - 90 employees (47 FTE) including seven directly reporting team leaders and one specialist assistant
- Overall responsibility for the personnel management of the social service, the housing and care sector, administration, the psychological service for refugees, the technical service, an integration restaurant, and the emergency aid sector
- Responsible for adhering to the budget and resource guidelines
- Conducting leadership meetings and supporting social workers in complex case management and decisions
- Interface with the canton of Uri and the Uri municipalities
- Co-shaping the accommodation and care conditions for refugees in Uri
What you bring with you
- Completed studies in social work, anthropology, social or business sciences, or similar fields
- At least 3 years of leadership experience of larger and interdisciplinary teams; preferably in the fields of migration, asylum and flight and/or integration
- Sound expertise in asylum and immigration law as well as business administration
- Several years of experience in social work and project management in dynamic/volatile contexts are advantageous
- Additional knowledge in tenancy law, gastronomy and/or contextual knowledge of the canton of Uri is a plus
- Experience in crisis management is advantageous
- Resilience, flexibility, self-initiative and solution orientation with political and diplomatic sensitivity as well as high social and communication skills
- Good language skills in German (C2) and French (B1), other languages are a plus
- Impeccable reputation evidenced by a current special private extract (may be requested before completion of recruitment)
