The Institute of Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine (IFA) at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) provides more than 30,000 services annually in outpatient and inpatient anaesthesiology, in-hospital and out-of-hospital emergency medicine, as well as in acute and chronic pain medicine.
Within the framework of highly specialised medicine, the USZ has mandates for all transplantations as well as for the treatment of severely burned and multiply injured patients. A large proportion of our medical staff are undergoing specialist training in anaesthesiology. The IFA is a training centre of category A1.

Senior Consultant (m/f/d) Anaesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine 80-100%

Your main tasks
- Independent anaesthesiological care of patients of all ages and disciplines across the entire university care spectrum
- Anaesthesiological care of complex patients and demanding procedures in highly specialised medicine (HSM)
- Independent execution and professional co-design of paediatric anaesthesia in the university environment
- Participation in shift and on-call duties
- Assumption of leadership, organisational and coordination tasks
- Active involvement in and further development of medical training, patient care, quality assurance, research and teaching
- Guidance, supervision, training and mentoring of assistant and senior physicians
Your profile
Professional qualifications
Advantageous
Personally, you convince through
- Specialist title in Anaesthesiology (FMH or equivalent), doctorate
- Several years of senior clinical experience at a university hospital or a maximum care hospital
- Broad clinical expertise and proven ability to independently cover the entire university spectrum of anaesthesiological care at a high professional level
- Extensive experience in the anaesthesiological care of complex patients and in highly specialised medicine (HSM)
- Proven expertise in paediatric anaesthesia with confident independent clinical activity
- Experience in supervision, guidance and professional development of medical staff
Advantageous
- Habilitation, proven scientific activity and/or MBA
- Experience in further developing clinical standards, treatment concepts or quality projects in university anaesthesiology
