As the long-standing incumbent will retire next summer, we are looking for a passionate Head of Transport (a) to succeed him. In this versatile and demanding leadership role, you will take overall responsibility for the transport sector. Together with your management team, you will ensure an efficient, economical and customer-oriented handling of transport processes and continuously develop the workflows.

Area of responsibility

• Overall responsibility for operational processes in the departments of Transport, Dispatch and Night Platform
• Business management and ensuring administration, controlling and invoicing
• Leadership of three team leaders and around 130 employees
• Optimal management regarding resources such as personnel, vehicles and equipment
• Leadership, support and implementation of projects
• Recruitment, leadership, coaching, training and promotion of employees
• Co-development and implementation of the company strategy in the transport sector
• Planning and project management for the integration of new customers
• Enforcement and assurance of compliance with various standards (ISO, FSSC etc.), guidelines and instructions

Requirements profile

• Completed commercial, logistical or technical basic training, ideally in the transport industry
• Further training in business administration and/or leadership
• Federal diploma as operations manager in transport and logistics is an advantage
• Several years of leadership experience in a comparable role
• Sound industry knowledge in road transport
• Technical understanding of commercial vehicles and their use
• Very good German language skills, spoken and written
• Very good IT user skills (MS Office)

You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, are an empathetic doer with a structured and solution-oriented working style as well as a high service and team orientation. In addition, you have pronounced leadership qualities combined with assertiveness and high social competence.
