Humans shape this transformation – and are simultaneously challenged by it. Psychology provides indispensable perspectives in this context. Develop this innovative research, teaching, and transfer topic with us within the framework of the newly created professorship Human and AI.
Department: Applied Psychology
Start of work: April 1, 2026, or by arrangement
- You are responsible for the development and establishment of the Professorship Human and AI from the perspective of Applied Psychology.
- You acquire and lead third-party funded research projects that deal with the entire spectrum of AI and complex technologies with psychological and interdisciplinary questions.
- You design and conduct courses in studies and continuing education on the topic of psychology and AI.
- You supervise qualification theses of students.
- You ensure knowledge transfer in development and service projects.
- You build a team based on teaching and third-party funded projects.
- Degree in Psychology (major or minor) and a relevant doctorate in psychology or a related social science
- At least five years of practical experience outside of universities
- Proven research expertise in the subject area or related research focuses and methodological-didactic qualification at university level
- Experience in continuing education and services is desired
- Working languages are German and English
You have diverse interests, take responsibility for building up the subject area, and are used to working cooperatively in expert teams. In addition, you can quickly familiarize yourself with new topics and combine high scientific competence with a pronounced transfer orientation. The professorship requires entrepreneurial skills and the ability to acquire R&D projects as well as client mandates in continuing education and services.
The appointment as professor is made by the University of Applied Sciences Council upon appropriate qualification.
The ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, with over 14,000 students and over 11,000 continuing education participants as well as around 3,700 employees, is one of the largest multi-disciplinary universities of applied sciences in Switzerland.
The Professorship Human and AI is located in the newly oriented Institute for Human, Society and Technologies (IMGT) and contributes with its topics to the profiling of this innovative unit of the Department of Applied Psychology.
