The Kantonsschule Zürich Nord operates a long and a short gymnasium with all profiles offered in the canton of Zurich and the bilingual Matura diplomas German/English and German/French as well as a specialized middle school. It has around 2,200 students, 300 teachers, 50 central services staff, and eight principals who contribute to the successful daily running of the school. Since this school year, KZN has been located on the Irchel campus.
A vice principal position is to be newly filled at the beginning of the autumn semester 2026/27.

Your tasks
As vice principal, you are part of the school management and, together with the principal, other vice principals, and the head of central services, responsible for the pedagogical, administrative, and financial management of the school and its further development. You supervise students and classes of the specialized middle school or the gymnasium and take care of personnel matters of individual departments. You have a high level of commitment and organizational talent and are interested in school development and school quality. You are resilient and skilled in dealing with young people, teachers, administrative and operational staff, as well as school authorities and official bodies. In addition, you are a team-oriented, innovative, and communicative personality with a confident and convincing presence.
Your profile
Formal requirements for an application are a completed university degree and a teaching diploma for Matura schools or an equivalent professional and pedagogical education as well as several years of teaching experience at the middle school level. As vice principal, you teach ten lessons per week.
