Social Worker in Youth and Family Counselling, kjz Winterthur, 60 - 90%
The Office for Youth and Career Counselling of the Department of Education provides, commissions, manages and coordinates services for child and youth welfare and career counselling. The kjz Winterthur (Child and Youth Welfare Centre) is a polyvalent counselling centre for families, parents, young people, children and toddlers and operates on the basis of the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich.
The Youth and Family Counselling (JFB) of kjz Winterthur is looking for a social worker 60 - 90% as relief from January 2027.
The position is limited to one year with the option of extension.
As a guardian or trustee, you will carry out civil law child protection measures, conduct child welfare assessments on behalf of the KESB and advise families, children and young people according to their mandates. The counselling covers a wide range of topics related to family organisation, upbringing, separation and divorce, visitation rights issues and child protection matters. Good and close cooperation with authorities, schools, institutions and specialist agencies is highly valued.
You bring with you:
- Training at a Swiss University of Applied Sciences for Social Work
- Experience in youth and family welfare as well as statutory social work
- Optionally, additional training in systemic, solution-oriented counselling
- Empathy for people in special life situations
- Confident negotiation skills
