In the Competence Group Analogue Electronics and Microcontrollers AEM at the ESA Institute, you work on customised electronic solutions – from analogue signal processing, sensor integration and measurement technology to embedded systems and STM32-based firmware, right through to EMC-compliant PCB design. Research Associate Electronics Development and Embedded Systems 100%
for the period from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027.
The position is initially limited to one year. An extension is possible depending on the project situation.
Research Associate Electronics Development and Embedded Systems
Your tasks
- Development of analogue and microcontroller-based electronic solutions – from specification through circuit design, PCB layout, firmware development and commissioning to verification.
- Participation in application-oriented research and development projects with industry partners, especially in the areas of sensor technology, measurement technology, embedded systems, signal processing and EMC-compliant design.
- Development and testing of prototypes, measurement setups and demonstrators.
- Support in acquiring new projects, e.g. through technical clarifications, concept contributions and offer preparation.
- Involvement in teaching, such as internships, project work or supervision of students.
- Operation, maintenance and further development of laboratory and development infrastructure.
Your qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, embedded systems, systems engineering or a comparable field.
- Experience or strong interest in at least one of the following areas: analogue circuit technology, embedded software, sensor technology, measurement technology, EMC, power electronics, high-frequency electronics or medical technology.
- Enjoyment of practical development – from concept through prototype to tested system.
- Structured, independent and quality-conscious working style.
- Team spirit, communication skills and interest in collaboration with industry partners and students.
- Very good German skills as well as good English skills in spoken and written form.
