The contribution you can make

• After a gradual introduction and training, take on a central role in the operation of our combat jets
• Repair, maintain and service F/A-18 – with later specialisation on the most modern combat jet generation F-35
• Inspect and maintain engines as well as safety-relevant systems – from engine changes to idle and test runs to checks of cable arrestor systems
• Hand over jets directly to pilots and take them back after the flight
• Occasionally take on special tasks – for example during training abroad, on flight accident standby, at major events such as the WEF or in the company fire brigade

What makes you unique

• Technical apprenticeship (e.g. automation technician, polymechanic, agricultural machinery mechanic, motor equipment mechanic, automotive mechatronics technician or similar)
• Fascination for aviation – aircraft experience is not a must
• Enjoy working in a team in our well-coordinated small team as well as reliability and analytical thinking
• Willingness to provide technical support for training abroad (2 x 2-3 weeks per year) as well as occasional standby or night work (seasonal and individual weeks per year)
• Swiss citizenship and impeccable conduct certificate (personal security check)

The Operations Command (Kdo Op) is responsible for all military operations and missions of the Swiss Army. The Kdo Op includes, among others, the Air Force, the Army, the four territorial divisions, the SWISSINT competence centre, the Special Forces Command and the Military Police. Around 40% of the approximately 2,500 employees are civilian – from engineers to aircraft mechanics to analysts.
