Profile
The IOSI employs physicians in training in the inpatient ward in Bellinzona and in the 4 outpatient clinics in Bellinzona, Locarno, Lugano and Mendrisio. The Institute is recognised as a type A training centre for obtaining a specialist title in medical oncology FMH and is affiliated with the Faculty of Biomedicine of the University of Italian Switzerland (USI). Furthermore, the Oncology Clinic maintains regular academic collaboration contacts with the Oncology Research Institute (IOR), the Institute of Biomedical Research (IRB), the Zurich Polytechnic (ETHZ) and the Swiss Group for Cancer Research (SAKK). In addition to daily clinical activity, our Institute’s training offer includes, in close collaboration with the Haematology Clinic, a rich weekly continuing education programme with Journal Club, training conferences and oncolunch. The discussion of clinical cases is multidisciplinary and takes place within the numerous tumour boards held weekly, to which every assistant physician is invited to actively participate.
The physician we are looking for must possess motivation, initiative and a spirit of collaboration. They believe, as we do, in the importance of putting the patient and their family at the centre of all our attention.
