Medical Secretary for the CAN Team
To strengthen the team of the CAN Team Unit (Child Abuse and Neglect) at the Children’s Hospital, the Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME) of the CHUV is seeking a medical secretary for a workload between 30 and 40%, for a fixed-term contract from 01.10.26 to 28.02.27.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
Within the Women-Mother-Child Department, the paediatrics service offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children aged 0 to 18 years. It maintains close links with other services in the department such as neonatology, paediatric surgery, adolescent medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics.
The CAN Team is a hospital child protection group committed to the prevention and detection of abuse. It works with families to address vulnerabilities that cause maltreatment by providing specific clinical expertise. Its multidisciplinary team enables rapid assessment of situations and their referral to extra-hospital structures whose mission is to support families and protect children.
Mission
- You attend CAN Team meetings and manage the documentation
- You take and draft minutes as well as distribute and archive them
- You ensure administrative follow-up of cases presented to the CAN Team
- You write and/or type civil and/or criminal reporting letters for all situations presented to the CAN Team.
Profile
- You hold a commercial employee CFC or an equivalent qualification and/or a medical secretary diploma
- You already have professional experience in a hospital environment
- You show a particular interest in social paediatrics and working with vulnerable families
- You have perfect command of French spelling and knowledge of medical terminology
- You are versatile, organised and autonomous. Your collaborative spirit, interpersonal skills and ability to manage priorities allow you to follow and manage several files simultaneously
- You have the ability to cope with a sustained workload and to work in a multidisciplinary team
- You can demonstrate good mastery of common IT tools (MS Office) as well as CHUV’s IT tools.
