The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNF) is one of the seven faculties of the University of Zurich (UZH). The faculty comprises 14 independent and nine jointly managed institutes with other faculties. It holds a leading position in international research and teaching, reflecting its high societal significance. The faculty's study programme covers the entire spectrum of natural science and mathematics subjects. With more than 5000 students and the highest growth rates, the MNF is the second largest faculty at UZH.The Dean's Office supports both students and lecturers, manages and coordinates all study-related processes, and serves as an important interface in the area of teaching with other faculties and central units of UZH as well as with universities at home and abroad. The applications department is responsible for processing admission and other study-related applications as well as objections and appeals.
Responsible Person for Applications Department
Tasks
- Coordination and processing of admission and other study-related applications, especially complex and legally demanding cases.
- Handling objections, appeals and procedures to ensure the right to be heard, as well as preparing statements and draft decisions.
- Professional leadership of a directly subordinate person, task distribution and quality assurance.
- Collaboration with specialist departments and central offices of UZH as well as coordination with the management of the Dean's Office.
Profile
- University degree in law (Bachelor or equivalent qualification).
- Professional experience in handling legally demanding applications or administrative law procedures; experience in the higher education sector and in professional leadership is an advantage.
- Legal judgement, independent and careful working style as well as solution orientation and teamwork skills.
- German language skills at level C2 and English skills at level C1 as well as very good written expression.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is an advantage.
