The EOC, the multisite hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. The organisation effectively combines a local approach with an overall vision, guaranteeing the population a comprehensive and local hospital service, regardless of where the services are required.

The Cantonal Hospital Authority, the multisite hospital of Ticino, to complete its Angiology team, is looking for a:
Head Physician Angiology (100%)
Angiology is part of the Vascular Surgery and Angiology Service and covers the vascular medicine needs of the entire Canton. The candidate must have proven clinical experience and demonstrate solidity and autonomy in managing the entire spectrum of angiological diagnostics. A strong aptitude for teamwork is essential, given the need to collaborate with angiologists from the various EOC sites and to maintain close cooperation with surgeons, interventional radiologists, and colleagues from related specialties (nephrology, neurology, internal medicine). The candidate will be called upon to lead the Angiology department at the Lugano site, to direct the training centre, and to coordinate teaching activities for Angiology with the University of Italian Switzerland, with good prospects for further career development in clinical, academic, and research fields.
Necessary requirements:
- Recognised specialisation in Angiology. For doctors with foreign qualifications, recognition by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions MEBEKO and registration with MedReg (https://www.medregom.admin.ch) will be mandatory before starting the activity
- Possession of a university title (PD, Prof) is desirable
- Proven knowledge of the Italian language (required level at least B2) with registration at MedReg (https://www.medregom.admin.ch) before starting the activity. Knowledge of another national language and English is also desirable
- Certificate of free practice in the Canton of Ticino obtained before starting at our Institute
- Complete training and experience in responsible roles in angiology (at least 5 years of experience as a specialist)
- Experience in training young colleagues
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Interest in research and teaching
