Biology Laboratory Technician, initially temporary, with possibility of later permanent employment 20%
The KME Zurich is the adult maturity school of the canton of Zurich in the Zurich Seefeld with about 80 teachers and 700 students. To strengthen our biology laboratory, we are looking for a biology laboratory technician at 20% workload, initially temporary until summer 2027, starting immediately or by arrangement. The workload can be increased from summer 2027 and can also be converted into a permanent position.
Your tasks
As a biology laboratory technician, you support the biology lessons and school operations in many ways together with your colleague. You prepare models, equipment, and demonstration objects for lessons, manage and maintain the biological collection, keep materials in good condition, and ensure their availability. In addition, you take care of plants in the greenhouse and classrooms as well as animals in the laboratory and terrariums.
You share responsibility for order, safety, and maintenance in the laboratory area and work closely with the biology teachers. As a flexible, independent, and team-oriented person, you work reliably and proactively, are interested in learning new things, and gladly contribute your own ideas. Hectic moments do not throw you off balance.

Your profile
You have completed vocational training as a biology laboratory technician or a comparable qualification and enjoy working in a lively environment with teachers and students. You bring interest and care in handling plants and animals and maintain them in the greenhouse, classrooms, and laboratory. Several years of experience as a laboratory technician are good prerequisites for this diverse and responsible task.
You have a category B driving license to occasionally pick up orders at the slaughterhouse and, in rare cases, to carry out other small transports for the biology laboratory.
