Legal Specialist at the General Management
The Legal Affairs Unit of the General Management of the CHUV is seeking a Legal Specialist on a permanent contract to strengthen its team responsible for contracts and legal support in the field of research. The starting date is scheduled for 1 October 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The University Hospital Centre of Vaud (CHUV) plays a leading role in medical care, biomedical research and teaching, both nationally and internationally. The Legal Affairs Unit provides support and advice to the general management, clinical and research services of the CHUV, on organisational aspects, validation of institutional documents, contracts and dispute resolution.
Join us to be part of a dynamic team and provide legal support to the management, as well as to the clinical services and professionals of the CHUV serving patients, in the area of contracts and research.
Mission
- You advise the general management on legal and administrative matters
- You draft, negotiate, review and validate contracts related to research, including clinical trials, as well as scientific services and sponsorship
- You provide legal support to research and teaching activities through written legal opinions and telephone advice
- You review inter-institutional agreements involving the CHUV
- You ensure the compliance and quality of contractual, administrative and legal documents of the general management and other institutional documents
- You participate in committees or working groups
- You take part in internal or external training in the fields of contract law and research
- You represent the general management of the CHUV and the Legal Affairs Unit internally and in external relations
- You participate in legislative consultation procedures and legal monitoring.
Profile
- You have a Master’s degree in Swiss law as well as additional training or professional experience in contract law and research law
- You have good knowledge of data protection law
- You are interested in the activities of a university hospital, particularly in the field of human research
- You can work independently while demonstrating team spirit and collaboration
- You have a sense of organisation and prioritisation, as well as public service
- You are comfortable in contact with your interlocutors, able to manage unforeseen events and show flexibility
- You have excellent writing skills in English and French
- You have knowledge of German.
Depending on your profile, the salary grade will be level 11 or 12.
