With around 260 employees, the Schaffhausen Police ensures safety and order for the benefit of the population throughout the canton of Schaffhausen.
The Security Police is the competence centre for demanding operational situations and is responsible for the planning and management of major events as well as extraordinary threat situations.
As the person responsible for the Situation Centre, you actively shape the police situation picture. You analyse and link relevant information, thereby creating a sound basis for decisions for management and operations.
For the Operations and Planning group, we are seeking support from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement as

What to expect:- Collection, preparation and analysis of police and security-relevant data and information
- Recognition of developments, patterns and connections as well as deriving fields of action at tactical and operational levels
- Creation and visualisation of analyses, statistics, key figures and situation products as a basis for decision-making for the command
- Support and further development of the situation picture application as well as participation in the further development of data-based situation work
- Conducting ad-hoc analyses and evaluations for different areas of the organisation
- Further development and automation of analysis, reporting and data processes as well as ensuring data quality
- Professional exchange with situation and analysis units of the federal government, cantons and neighbouring countries
- Participation in or management of projects in the areas of situation, data analysis and digitalisation
- Support in situation assessments, operational planning and other decision-making bases
- Participation in internal training and further education in the area of situation and data analysis
What you bring:
- Completed police training with several years of professional experience or completed studies (FH/university) in a field relevant to the function (e.g. Data Science, Criminology) or a comparable training or qualification suitable for the activity
- Strong analytical and networked thinking as well as the ability to assess complex matters in a structured manner
- Experience or strong interest in the areas of data analysis, situation processing or criminal analysis
- High digital competence; knowledge of analysis and visualisation tools
- Knowledge of police procedures and command structures or willingness to acquire them
- Ability to prepare analysis results clearly and derive relevant decision-making bases from them
- Independent, structured and quality-conscious working style
- High sense of responsibility in handling sensitive and protected data
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, resilience and high social competence
