The non-profit Giessbach Foundation for the Swiss People was founded in 1983 by the famous animal and environmental protector Franz Weber to save Giessbach, a 150-year-old natural and cultural asset of national and international value, and to preserve it for future generations.
The foundation maintains and preserves the 22-hectare nature park with forest, trails, and waterfall (natural monument), the historic funicular railway, and the listed buildings to keep Giessbach as a common heritage for the Swiss people.

Deployment duration from 3 weeks up to 6 months
How you can support us:
• Construction of park infrastructure such as fences, benches, visitor guidance, and signage
• Maintenance and upkeep of the over 150-year-old paths, path reinforcements, and barbecue areas in the nature park
• Inspection and repair of park infrastructure such as drainage channels, stairs, barbecue areas with furniture and waste systems
• Repair and extension of dry stone walls
• Simple forestry and cleanup work in the forest and removal of neophytes in the nature park
• Contact and information person for visitors in the nature park during deployments
• Assistance with mowing and bringing in the hay (seasonal and as needed) to maintain our ecological meadow areas and slopes.
• Support with parking management (barrier service)
