We are Solifos – a Swiss fibre optic cable manufacturer with over 25 years of experience in fibre optic sensors and tactical communication systems. For our purchasing department, we are looking for you: someone who combines project purchasing, strategic topics and operational deputising – with personal responsibility, a hands-on mentality and a good dose of flexibility.

Project Buyer (m/f/d)

Your role

• You are responsible for project-related purchasing for our customer projects – from the quotation phase through to series launch and subsequent procurement over the years
• You contribute to the further development of our purchasing strategy: supplier selection, framework agreements, product groups, risk management
• You negotiate prices, terms and contracts with suppliers – both for projects and strategically
• You deputise for operational purchasing and lend a hand in day-to-day business when needed
• You work closely with project management, development, production and quality – already in the quotation phase
• You monitor deadlines, costs and quality of your procurements and manage complaints with suppliers

What you bring

• Commercial or technical training with further education in purchasing, supply chain or business administration
• Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing company – ideally with exposure to project and series procurement
• Negotiation skills and a good sense for supplier relationships
• Confident handling of ERP systems (ideally SAP)
• Hands-on mentality: You are not too strategic for an order and not too operational for a negotiation
• Independent, structured working style – combined with the flexibility to switch between topics in an SME environment
• Willingness to travel (approx. 20%)
• Very good German and English skills
