Your team
For our Investment Office team in the asset management area, we are looking for an analytical, proactive, and motivated individual as a Specialist Mandates Traditional Investments (80–100%). In this role, you will take responsibility for the professional analysis and monitoring of our traditional investment mandates and work closely with external asset managers and consultants. Together with the team, you will continuously develop our investment monitoring and the underlying analytical tools, creating sound decision-making bases for our investment committees and management.
Your tasks
- Responsibility for the professional analysis and monitoring of traditional investment mandates focusing on performance, risk, investment style, and mandate compliance
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative manager analyses and deriving relevant insights and recommendations for action
- Preparation and execution of regular review meetings with external asset managers
- Professional support of manager selections and tenders in close collaboration with external consultants as well as critical assessment of analyses and recommendations
- Creation and target-group appropriate preparation of decision-making bases for investment committees and management
- Participation in the analysis and target-group appropriate preparation of relevant capital market, performance, and risk topics for internal and external stakeholders
- Responsibility for the ongoing development of methods and tools in investment monitoring, especially the manager scorecard as well as performance, risk, factor, and peer group analyses
- Use and further development of data-based analyses as well as participation in the digitalisation and automation of investment processes
- Close cooperation with internal departments as well as external asset managers, consultants, and other investment partners
- Prospective involvement in the analysis and further development of selected alternative investment strategies
Your profile
- University or university of applied sciences degree in finance, economics, or a comparable field; CFA, CAIA, or a comparable further qualification is an advantage
- Several years of relevant professional experience in institutional asset management as well as solid experience in the analysis and monitoring of investment mandates or in manager research
- Sound knowledge of traditional asset classes, especially equities and bonds; experience with selected alternative investment strategies such as hedge funds, ILS, or convertible bonds is an advantage
- Profound understanding of quantitative investment analyses, especially performance and risk analyses, performance attribution, factor analyses, as well as benchmark and peer group analyses, combined with strong analytical and conceptual skills
- High data and IT affinity as well as confident handling of common investment and analysis tools; knowledge of a programming language, preferably Python, is an advantage
- Initiative as well as independent and structured working style with a high standard of quality
- Very good communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to structure complex investment topics
- Open and team-oriented personality with a professional appearance, critical thinking skills, and enjoyment of professional exchange
- Very good German and English skills, both spoken and written
