As Head of Education, you will take over the operational school management in Meilen following the retirement of the previous post holder due to age on 1 August 2027 or by agreement.

Your main responsibilities

• Lead and advise school principals, school administration management and subject leaders both personnel-wise and professionally
• Manage school quality and resource allocation with a focus on comprehensive education of children
• Steer the development of schools in pedagogical, personnel and organisational terms
• Accompany construction projects and activities within the strategy of the unified municipality and proactively manage interfaces as department head of the municipality
• Ensure effective and carefully coordinated communication internally and externally as well as information flow
• Cooperate, network and exchange with authorities, administration, specialist offices and organisations as well as the cantonal public school office

Your profile

• Master’s degree (MA or MSc) in the field of pedagogy and educational science
• Ideally with further training (MAS) in leadership, economics, educational management or comparable qualification
• More than five years of leadership experience in the school environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of the public school sector or the Zurich education system
• Ability to think and plan conceptually as well as act in a solution-oriented manner
• Team-oriented personality with high social competence and presence
