About the job

Chemical Laboratory Technician
  • As a chemical laboratory technician, you hold a key role in conducting environmental analyses (water, air and soil) as well as supporting production activities.
  • You work within modern and specialised laboratories of the service, serving both internal clients on site and external clients.
  • You actively contribute to the compliance with and application of quality requirements defined by internal processes and current regulations (OPair, OEaux, OSites, OSol, OHyg, etc.).
  • Perform organic, inorganic and physico-chemical analyses on various environmental matrices (water, air, soil, waste).
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the instrument park, first-level maintenance, validation and optimisation of methods.
  • Diagnose analytical situations, formulate recommendations and propose concrete improvement actions.
  • Participate in sampling activities and preparation of samples from various matrices (water, soil, etc.).
  • Actively collaborate in the daily management and smooth running of the laboratory.
  • Ensure rigorous application of quality criteria of processes and compliance with environmental regulations in accordance with current ordinances (OPair, OEaux, OSites, OSol, OHyg, etc.).
  • Assume other responsible tasks as required by the service, while maintaining significant operational analytical activity.
  • Holder of a Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as a chemical laboratory technician or a technical training deemed equivalent.
  • Proven experience in gas chromatography, with mastery of common detectors (FID, NPD) and MS couplings (GC-MS, GC-MS HeadSpace, GC-MS/MS).
  • Good practice of high-performance liquid chromatography, notably on UPLC-MS/MS, with experience in method development and validation as well as routine analysis.
  • Recognised expertise in mass spectrometry, particularly triple quadrupole analysers (MS/MS) and coupling techniques with gas and liquid chromatography. Skills in spectrum interpretation, optimisation of acquisition parameters and data processing.
  • Strong command of analytical techniques and physico-chemical methods.
  • Ability to work according to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards; knowledge of ISO 17025 and GLP is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Limsophy and common office tools (Word, Excel); mastery of SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to manage projects independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong adaptability, organisational skills and ability to manage priorities.
