About the job

In the situation centre of the Bern Cantonal Police, you will further process/develop data and analysis processes, identify trends, and create meaningful situation reports for operational and strategic management. With your expertise, you contribute to understanding tomorrow's security situation today.
Your tasks
- Development, implementation, and further development of internal standards and processes for managing situation-relevant data as well as their analysis and visualisation
- Building and maintaining situation-relevant databases and their data storage structure
- Development and implementation of quality assurance procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of situation information
- Support of IT projects and participation in specialist committees
- Technical support for users of databases and applications
- Support in the area of police situation assessment (including via OSINT)
- Creation of comprehensive analysis reports for operational and strategic management levels
- Trend scouting
Your profile
- Completed university degree in computer science or data science and/or comparable education/practical experience
- Several years of professional experience in a relevant field
- Knowledge and interest in automated data processing, AI/ML, and knowledge management
- Experience in developing data architectures
- Experience with programming languages
- Strong team skills and flexibility
- Excellent communication skills combined with high social competence
- High resilience, quick comprehension, and strong initiative
- Willingness for on-call duty and irregular shifts (weekends and nights)
