The Association of Swiss Electricity Companies VSE is the umbrella organisation of the electricity industry and is committed to a secure, competitive and sustainable electricity supply in Switzerland. The VSE represents the interests of the industry towards politics, authorities, business, media and the public and is committed to well-trained professionals.

Your area of responsibility

As a Public Affairs Manager, you actively shape the political representation of interests of the VSE. You monitor and analyse political developments in the energy policy environment and identify opportunities and challenges for the industry at an early stage. With your understanding of the relevant energy policy topics and dossiers, you represent the concerns of the Swiss electricity sector towards politics, authorities, associations and other stakeholders. You maintain and expand your political network with relevant actors in the industry, federal parliamentarians, authorities and associations. Together with your colleagues at the office and our member companies, you develop measures for effective representation of interests and work independently on political projects and campaigns. You observe developments in energy policy, analyse political initiatives and contribute their relevance for the industry at an early stage. Together with internal specialists, you develop arguments for political decision-makers and coordinate responses to draft laws and regulations. Furthermore, you organise events with various stakeholders, represent the association at events and communicate complex energy policy topics clearly and appropriately for the target audience.

Your profile

• Master’s degree, ideally in political science, law or communication studies
• Experience in public affairs in a company, association, agency or party
• Excellent knowledge of the political landscape of Switzerland as well as an existing network in politics, administration and relevant stakeholder circles, which you develop and maintain purposefully
• Experience in the energy or electricity sector is an advantage
• Good communication and editorial skills as well as the ability to prepare complex issues clearly and appropriately for the target audience
• Initiative, willingness to shape and negotiation skills
• Native German or French speaker with very good knowledge of the other language
