We're currently looking for a diligent and highly motivated Research Associate to join our non-malignant hematology group. As part of a larger team, you will design and execute in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and safety of novel therapeutic candidates for bleeding disorders such as hemophilia and von Willebrand Disease.

The perfect candidate has a MSc/BSc or equivalent + 3 years in vivo experience. We are looking for individuals with extensive mouse work expertise, including transgenic management, injections, tissue handling, disease model characterization, and surgical procedures. They are also proficient in in vitro assays (ELISAs, biochemical assays) for data analysis. English communication and data management skills are essential..

Tasks & Responsibilities :

• Collaboratively design and execute in vivo studies, and interpret data from in vivo experiments to assess the pharmacodynamics and therapeutic efficacy of novel therapies
  • Establish, validate and use disease relevant mouse models of hemostasis and thrombosis, supported by in vitro analysis
  • Concisely present experimental data to the group during regular team meetings
  • Continuously improve test systems, treatment, analysis, and data evaluation. Contribute to work process optimization including data capture, storage and assay automation
  • Work closely with all members of the group, share duties, maintain a clean work environment and actively contribute to the positive work atmosphere within the group

Must Haves:

• MSc/BSc in Life Sciences (cellular/ molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology), or completion of an apprenticeship for a research associate ("Lehrabschluss") with at least 3 years of academic or industry experience working with in vivo models
  • Mouse work experience; managing transgenic animals, injections, tissue sampling and processing, characterization of disease models, experience in terminal and survival surgeries
  • Experience in applying in vitro analytical technologies such as ELISAs and biochemical assays for data analysis and result evaluations
  • Effective communication in English, both in writing and orally. Skillfully able to interact with people and have strong commitment to teamwork
  • Excellent data management and record-keeping skills

Nice to Haves:

• Technical and theoretical background/expertise in mouse models of hemostasis and thrombosis
