What you will do here
- Teach bachelor and master students of the Jazz and Contemporary Music department in the core subjects of piano and stylistic ensembles
- Build your own piano class and support students towards their diplomas
- Promote the musical skills of the students as well as their ability to reflect and creativity with regard to the music and teaching market
- Support the development of a transdisciplinary-oriented university together with the faculty and participate in juries and commissions
- Engage with research and mediation questions around current music practice and set your own impulses
What you ideally bring with you
- Successfully completed university studies in jazz piano, international artistic presence and extensive performance experience
- International visibility as a pianist, performer or composer in the aforementioned stylistic field. Language skills in German, French and/or English
- Didactic aptitude and pedagogical teaching experience at university level, knowledge of the diversity of methods in current music teaching
- Wide stylistic range beyond the core jazz repertoire, experience in music mediation issues and formats and related areas
- Willingness to be regularly present in Bern during the semester, as weekly on-site teaching is required. The interviews with teaching demonstration will take place on March 2 and 3, 2026.
