What’s the team like?

VSL is an international specialty construction company with a global presence. The main objective of our HR team in Bern/Switzerland is to support our internal partners in achieving the company's objectives, while ensuring compliance with legal rules and good working conditions. We believe that preserving our built environment is a critical approach to reducing the carbon footprint of the infrastructure sector, and we see innovative engineering and high-quality execution as key to this. Together, we work in a multidisciplinary environment to improve our technologies and develop new, differentiating solutions. How will you make an impact?

VSL Switzerland is looking for an HR Business Partner to strengthen the HR team in Berne. You will report directly to the HR manager for the central Europe region and your main tasks will be:

  • HR partner for the whole of VSL Switzerland's Profit Centre (on-site presence once a week in Subingen SO)
  • Recruitment & onboarding
  • Follow-up and participation in the group's annual processes: annual interview, salary review, talent review, etc.
  • Managing complex situations and conflicts
  • Recruitment, induction and monitoring of trainees (4-5 per year)
  • Administrative follow-up of HR tasks related to international projects and some reporting activities
  • Active participation in the continuous improvement of HR processes and practices
  • Monitoring and organizing in-house training with department managers
  • Organizing HR-related events.
  • Drawing up annual HR documents and updating regulations

 Who are we looking for?

  • HR Certificate in Human Resources (HR-Fachausweis)
  • Proven experience in the HR field (3-5 year) and knowledge of the construction sector would be an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular) and Abacus
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work 
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • English and German fluent (French is a major plus)
