As a Senior System Engineer, you will be the technical domain expert for our HIL test systems and related use-cases. You will lead requirements engineering, system specification and design concept of large-scale HIL rack systems and signal-conditioning elements tailored to our customers’ needs. You will supervise the assembling and testing of our solutions and assure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
You will join the growing team HIL Systems and collaborate with project management, sales, application engineering, implementation engineering, assembly and testing teams, suppliers, and customers. The role combines system engineering, customer-facing technical consulting, project execution, and continuous improvement of Speedgoat's engineering processes and tools.
Your Contribution:
- Collect, analyze, manage, and validate requirements of projects during initialization and engineering.
- Develop and present technical HIL system concepts that balance customer needs, feasibility, budget, and timeline.
- Design and configure rack-based HIL systems, signal-conditioning elements, electrical interfaces, and related system architectures.
- Consolidate system designs during engineering in collaboration with customers and internal teams.
- Guide and support the implementation engineering team to translate the design requirements into manufacturing specifications (including layouts, schematics, BOMs).
- Participate in creation of unit and system test specifications to verify system requirements.
- Collaborate with project management and internal teams in an agile workflow to meet timelines and manage technical risks.
- Align and supervise assembly and testing teams through system implementation and testing.
- Actively support continuous improvements in our engineering processes and related tools.
- Contribute to the productization and standardization of Speedgoat HIL solutions.
- Act as a technical owner for quality and scope in complex customer projects.
Your Background
What you bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering, systems engineering, or a comparable technical field
- At least five years of experience in system engineering or the development of complex electronic systems
- Strong knowledge in electronics hardware, signal processing and/or control systems
- Experience translating customer, system, or project requirements into technical specifications, system designs, and verification concepts
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink and/or ECAD tools (Altium, E3, SolidWorks Electrical)
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing or product development environments
- Team player with a high degree of ownership, independence, accountability, flexibility and reliability
- Fluent English communication skills
- Eligibility to work in Switzerland
Strong plus / nice-to-have
- Several years of experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial HIL testing environments
- Familiarity with product safety and EMC standards (IEC 61439, IEC 61010, IEC 61326)
- Experience with back-end (C#, python), database (e.g. SQL) or front-end scripting
- German communication skills
