In Roche´s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED), we make transformative medicines for patients in order to tackle some of the world’s toughest unmet healthcare needs. This position is located in Preclinical Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (pCMC), a department within the small molecule research organization in pRED Therapeutic Modalities, where we pave, in a diverse, ambitious and innovative environment, the path to bring drug candidates from early research into development.

The Opportunity:

As an Intern in our team your main tasks will include:

  • Discovery of new techniques for the synthesis of complex oligonucleotides or peptides.

  • Purification and analysis of reactions involving oligonucleotides or peptides with state of the art chromatographic techniques.

  • Scale up your findings into processes for the preparation of multi-gram quantities of desired target materials.

Who you are:

  • An enthusiastic, motivated and scientifically interested person who enjoys teamwork and has a strong willingness to learn new techniques.

  • Preferably a chemistry / biochemistry student with prior lab experience.

  • Prior experience with solid phase synthesis, conjugation, purification and analysis of oligonucleotides or peptides is desirable.

  • Excellent organizational skills and proactive knowledge sharing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
