As an Account Director at HMI, you will be responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships, and developing new markets, notably in Eastern Europe and Russian speaking market. You will work closely with new and existing clients to understand their unique needs and objectives, develop strategic event plans, and ensure flawless event delivery in collaboration with our project team.

This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual with exceptional networking skills and a strong background in sales, events and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in Europe.
  • Set and achieve sales targets in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Lead a team of account managers, providing training and support.
  • Prepare tender submissions and draft proposals.
  • Build a marketing strategy and oversee its delivery.
  • Accompany the client at every stage of the event planning, ensuring it is delivered on time and within the budget.
  • Review hotel and supplier contracts, negotiate discounts and special conditions.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop event concepts and designs.
  • Manage and nurture existing client relationships, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Log account and sales activities in the company CRM; CRM to be maintained and updated.
  • Promote HMI Sustainability Program and assist our clients in organizing zero-emission events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, International Relations, or a similar field is mandatory.
  • A proven track record of sales success and experience in managing client accounts.
  • Experience and full confidence in cold calls, networking, and pitching.
  • 4 years experience in the event industry, delivering major international events.
  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation, tender participation, and proposal preparation.
  • Knowledge of marketing and experience in leading promotional campaigns.
  • Experience in hiring and managing teams.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Broad professional network within the non-profit sector.
  • Significant knowledge of sustainability and ecological practices in event management.
  • Fluency in French, English, and Russian (written and spoken) is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools & SalesForce
  • Stress resistance and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong ability to work autonomously.
  • Result-oriented and focused on generating revenue.
  • Display authenticity and credibility, with the ability to communicate information at all levels with confidence and persuasion.
