This works well in the company

+ Remote work used to be a strong benefit, although recent contract updates have reduced this flexibility + Flexible working hours are still generally accepted + There are also some genuinely great colleagues who make day to day work more enjoyable

This could be improved

- Product positioning: The company struggles with a clear market identity. It is not a true DAM (Digital Asset Management) solution, yet it also positions itself across brand portals and creative templating areas. This lack of focus makes it difficult to position and compete with more specialized tools and have a clear GTM. Meanwhile, modern design, CMS and AI platforms (e.g. Figma; visual CMS tools like Webflow or even Lovable increasingly offer Frontify USP, their brand guidelines, at a lower cost, raising questions about long-term differentiation. This has had an impact on the growth and ability to sell and upsell the product. - Management: Recent C-level appointments raise concerns. In a phase where growth and strategic clarity are critical, leadership with proven experience scaling companies would be expected, nonetheless they've appointed individuals with no pedigree and no experience scaling companies at this stage. At the same time, parts of middle management appear insular, with limited diversity in background and leadership style, which can affect decision-making, accountability and definitely mentorship and accompaniment for employees. Despite the People team preaching management is being trained, reality is that they are not accountable nor improvements are seen in the latest surveys. - Compensation: Salaries tend to fall below industry standards across multiple departments. While internal benchmarks are referenced, there is limited transparency around how these are defined. - Culture and ways of working: The company promotes a “family-like” culture, but in practice this can feel superficial. Transparency is limited, and there is a noticeable lack of experience in people management. This contributes to inefficiencies, including frequent low-impact meetings and internal discussions that slow down execution. You'll get to experience the clear culture clash St. Gallen HQ vs New York or London offices.
