Would you like to take on responsibility, lead people and apply your strengths in leadership, HR and business administration in a nursery?

For our nursery in Laufen with three age-specific group houses, we are looking for a committed and experienced leader as Co-Manager 60%.

In our three houses, we care for children from infancy to the end of primary school. Our goal is a safe, reliable and development-promoting environment for the children as well as a working environment where employees can take responsibility and develop further.

Your Role

Our nursery is managed by two co-managers each working 60%. Both share overall responsibility, but the individual leadership areas are clearly assigned.

Your existing internal co-manager is primarily responsible for pedagogy, staff development and the operational nursery management.

You will take the lead particularly for corporate management, HR, finance and organisation.

You will make essential strategic, personnel and organisational decisions together. You will present yourselves as a reliable leadership team to employees, parents, the board and external bodies.

Your Tasks

Leadership & HR

• Medium and long-term personnel planning
• Management and support of recruitment processes
• Leadership of defined employees
• Support with complex personnel, leadership and labour law issues
• Design and optimisation of leadership and HR processes
• Promotion of a clear, appreciative and binding leadership culture

Finance & Corporate Management

• Annual budget and ongoing budget control
• Management and analysis of personnel costs
• Occupancy, utilisation, forecast and relevant key figures
• Identification and implementation of economic improvement potentials
• Regular reporting and preparation of decision-making bases for the board

Organisation, Data Protection & Collaboration

• Effectively design and optimise structures, processes and working methods
• Co-shaping the strategic direction of the nursery
• Coordination of overarching administrative matters
• Ensuring organisational implementation of data protection as well as responsible handling of personal data, access rights and confidentiality
• Collaboration with authorities and specialist offices as well as support with licensing matters
• Close cooperation with your co-manager and the board as well as ensuring regular and transparent information exchange

Pedagogically qualified – with a focus on leadership

You know the daily nursery routine and have a recognised pedagogical qualification. However, your focus in this role is not on regular childcare deployment but on leadership, HR, finance and organisation.

You are present in our three houses and close to employees, children and daily operations. In case of personnel shortages or short-term absences, you are ready and professionally able to support the care team directly in the children's group if needed.

Your Profile

• Recognised pedagogical qualification, e.g. childcare specialist EFZ, social pedagogy or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional and leadership experience with personnel responsibility
• Strong leadership competence and decisiveness
• Experience and confidence in handling complex personnel issues
• Good business understanding, especially for budget, personnel costs and personnel planning
• Organisational strength and entrepreneurial thinking
• Clear, appreciative and binding communication
• Pragmatic and solution-oriented working style
• Enjoy sharing responsibility in a co-management model while independently managing your own area of responsibility
• Leadership training or corresponding further education in leadership/management is an advantage
