Your Tasks

As Lead Data Engineer, you take on the professional leadership in demanding data engineering topics and actively shape the further development of our data platform. You combine deep technical know-how with a pronounced understanding of data modelling and modern data architectures. Together with the team, you create the foundation for stable, scalable and future-proof data solutions and

technically further develop our data warehouse and integration platform and set standards for sustainable engineering decisions
are responsible for the further development of our Data Vault 2.0 modelling and ensure consistent, comprehensible historisation and data integration
take on professional leadership in complex engineering and integration issues and act as a technical sparring partner for team management and specialist departments
conduct code, modelling and architecture reviews and establish best practices within the team
define and continuously develop engineering, architecture and development standards
design, develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes based on Azure Data Factory and SQL
ensure data quality, performance and stability throughout the entire data lifecycle
drive automation, testing as well as the expansion of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
evaluate new technologies and platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake and derive concrete further development steps for our existing data landscape
help shape the technological basis for future topics such as AI, advanced analytics and modern cloud architectures
work closely with BI, analytics and reporting teams and ensure high usability of data for different use cases

Our Requirements

Several years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer, Lead Data Engineer or in a comparable role
Sound knowledge of Data Vault 2.0, data modelling and historisation
Experience in building and operating data warehouse and data integration solutions
Very good SQL skills as well as practical experience with complex ETL/ELT processes
Experience with Azure technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL and Azure DevOps
Knowledge of modern data platforms such as Databricks and/or Snowflake is an advantage
Experience in establishing engineering standards as well as conducting code and architecture reviews
Strong architectural understanding with a focus on scalability, stability and future-proofing
Interest in future topics such as AI, advanced analytics and modern data architectures
Independent, structured working style as well as very good German language skills
