About the job
The schools in Hofstetten-Flüh, Metzerlen-Mariastein, Rodersdorf and Witterswil/Bättwil are looking for volunteers who enrich the lessons with their experience and time.Pro Senectute Canton Solothurn runs the project "Seniors in the Classroom" on behalf of the canton. The senior women and men enrich the lessons as voluntary staff of Pro Senectute with their life experience and resources and promote relationships between generations. Over 90 schools are involved in the project and around 200 volunteers are active throughout the canton.
As a senior in the classroom, you visit a school or kindergarten as a supportive companion for 2-6 lessons per week. In doing so, you support the school day and promote relationships between generations. No pedagogical prior knowledge is necessary, only the joy of working with children counts.
