We are looking for a motivated Cloud Data Platform Expert/Architect with experience in implementing complex distributed data platforms and applications to process heterogeneous and large volumes of data. Ideally, a person with experience in analytics technologies such as Spark, MPP, and NoSQL databases, who is also well acquainted with cloud infrastructure (Azure, Fabric and/or Databricks).
Your tasks
As a Cloud Data Platform Expert/Architect, you will work in multiple teams including data engineers, business analysts, and data scientists to build and operate state-of-the-art data analytics platforms. The role requires technical skills in analytics ecosystems with a focus on cloud infrastructure and open-source software.
- You participate in several cloud data platform projects and act as a central point of contact for our clients
- You support the acquisition of new client projects by preparing proposals and discussing them with the client
- You share responsibility for the design, code, and configuration of components that manage data ingestion, real-time streaming, batch processing, data extraction, and transformation across multiple data sources and applications
- You interact with engineering teams across projects and ensure that your solutions meet client requirements regarding functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security, and reliability
- You evaluate analytics architectures and environments and make improvement suggestions
- You coach in innovative technologies and act as a mentor to our team members

Your profile
- University degree ETH/UNI/FH
- Over 8 years of experience in delivering and automating cloud solutions using one or more technologies such as Azure, AWS, Databricks, Kubernetes or Terraform
- Over 5 years of implementation skills with analytics technologies such as SQL, Spark, Kafka, Hadoop or Delta Lake, and programming experience in Python or Java/Scala
- Experience with various ETL tools such as Talend or SSIS, data modelling and data governance, as well as data warehouse & data mesh knowledge complete the profile
- High-quality certifications with Databricks and/or Azure Analytics
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices throughout the entire development cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Several years of consulting experience is an advantage
- Fluent in German and English
