Caritas Switzerland has been operating asylum centres at various locations in the canton of Zurich on behalf of the canton since March 2024. The centre is located in a rural setting directly at Kollbrunn station and accommodates a maximum of 130 families and individuals. We are looking to strengthen our team for the care of refugees at night and especially at weekends.
Your tasks- Introduction, guidance and support of residents on topics such as nutrition, hygiene, order and cleanliness
- Co-responsibility for creating a good house atmosphere
- Co-responsibility for compliance with house rules and safety in the centre
- Preparation of reports and communication of information internally and externally
- Implementation of cleaning and hygiene concepts
- Regular rounds and presence
- Participation in activities and animation
- Attendance at monthly team meetings
- Work in shift duty with sole responsibility
- Regular participation in early, late and weekend shifts – readiness to work 365 days a year according to the duty roster.
- Completed training
- Experience in the migration sector and/or youth work desirable
- Good knowledge of the German language as well as good oral skills in English, further foreign language skills an advantage
- Good computer user skills (MS Office)
- High resilience and ability to cope with stress as well as conflict management skills
- Flexibility, resilience and assertiveness
- Initiative, independence and a high degree of work organisation
- Willingness to work varying hours
- Cultural openness
- High sense of responsibility and duty
