In this varied role, you will be responsible for the technical design and planning of complex pipeline systems and develop economical and standards-compliant solutions for demanding process plants. You will assess different solution options, carry out technical calculations and accompany projects from the concept phase to implementation.
The position is suitable for both experienced engineers and motivated career starters who want to develop professionally and personally into a piping engineer with our support.
Your tasks
- Development of economical and standards-compliant pipeline concepts
- Design and planning of pipeline systems from routing, through alignment to isometrics
- Carrying out pipe stress calculations with the support of experienced specialists
- Classification of pipeline systems according to the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and consideration in design and documentation
- Technical specification of pipeline components, valves and support systems
- Technical design and construction of pipe supports and secondary steelwork
- Detailed execution planning for process plants using modern CAE tools (CADISON, PROBAD, ROHR2)
- Creation of 3D models for vessels, equipment and pipelines for optimal plant planning
- Preparation of drawings, isometrics and material take-offs
- Carrying out cost estimates and cost calculations
- Conducting surveys and participating in meetings with customers on site
- Technical coordination of suppliers and disciplines to ensure compliant and timely implementation
- Maintenance and updating of plant documentation
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with process engineering, plant engineering and project management to develop optimal overall solutions
Your profile
Professional qualifications, experience and skills
- Degree in mechanical engineering, plant engineering, process engineering or a comparable qualification
- Basic knowledge or a strong interest in pipeline planning
- Interest in topics such as pipe stress, specification and plant engineering
- Experience with common planning and CAE software tools (e.g. Autodesk Plant 3D, AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD, CADISON)
- Analytical thinking and willingness to familiarise yourself with calculation methods and software tools such as ROHR2 and PROBAD
- Interest in technical issues and willingness to familiarise yourself with standards, guidelines and the technical evaluation of pipeline concepts
- Initial experience in plant engineering is an advantage but not essential. Your motivation, willingness to learn and interest in process plant engineering are decisive
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel occasionally and visit customers
