In the canton of Thurgau, all residents should feel safe. This is ensured around the clock by approximately 600 employees of the Thurgau Cantonal Police with a modern organisation and close contact with the population.In Operational Analysis, large volumes of data from telecommunications surveillance are technically analysed and professionally classified. The staff recognise patterns and connections in complex telecommunications and mobile data and support criminal police investigations as competent contacts for technical questions.
We are looking for a Telecommunications Specialist (ÜPF) immediately or by arrangement
Telecommunications Specialist (ÜPF)
Your main tasks
- Professional analysis, advice and classification of telecommunications surveillance measures as well as technical assessment of location, movement and signalling data
- Analysis of large structured and unstructured data sets, focusing on complex mobile data and digital traces
- Continuous monitoring, evaluation and classification of technological developments in the field of mobile communications and telecommunications
- Co-responsibility for the smooth operation of federal applications in the field of postal and telecommunications traffic
- Technical and professional support for demanding criminal police investigations in the field of mobile communications and telecommunications
- Participation in interdisciplinary project and specialist groups as well as active development and maintenance of a professional network
- Preparation of meaningful reports and visualisations that clearly and appropriately present the results obtained
- Taking on weekend and on-call duties to ensure operational readiness around the clock
Your profile
- Telematics technician EFZ, network electrician EFZ with a focus on telecommunications; qualification from a higher technical college is an advantage
- Several years of professional experience in the environment of modern mobile networks (LTE/5G)
- Very good understanding of network architectures, signalling, location and movement data
- Experience with the analysis and presentation of large data sets
- Ability to convey complex technical matters clearly, precisely and practically
- Analytical, structured and independent working style
- Experience in the criminal police or security-relevant environment is an advantage
- Confident communication and cooperation skills in dealing with internal and external partners
- Fluent German in spoken and written form, good English skills as well as good editorial skills
- High willingness for continuous further training and openness to new technologies
