The IT services of the city of Thun (IDT) are a central service provider for the city administration of Thun, the Thun public schools and for third-party clients, such as regional municipalities. IDT currently supports and maintains around 4,300 workstations, 280 servers, 4,800 user accounts in the education network and 800 user accounts in the administration area.We are looking immediately or by arrangement for a
ICT System Engineer (80-100%) AD, Server, Storage Management and Client Virtualisation
Your tasks:
As a System Engineer in the technical department, you are responsible together with nine other employees for the entire data centre infrastructure. Your technical focus areas are essentially:
- Participation and technical responsibility in various IT projects as well as in the introduction or further development of new services and technologies
- Provision, configuration and maintenance of Windows Hyper-V cluster hosts, virtual Windows servers and our Active Directory
- Responsible for the maintenance and further development of our storage (NetApp) and Cisco UCS infrastructure
- Co-responsible for the expansion, optimisation and administration of the virtual desktop infrastructure in our Citrix environment
- Analysis and resolution of system faults
- Responsible for the architecture of the department and the implementation of optimal, platform-wide coordinated solutions
- Definition and documentation of the corresponding standards for the responsible department
You bring with you:
- Completed basic training (EFZ) in the field of computer science with further education (HF) or Bachelor / Master degree in computer science
- Training or experience in project or sub-project management
- Solid, practical knowledge in the areas of NetApp, Cisco UCS, virtualisation (Hyper-V, Citrix) as well as very good knowledge of the Microsoft server environment (AD, DNS, DHCP, ADFS) required
- Methodical, independent, solution-oriented and structured way of working
- Flawless oral and written expression in German as well as good English skills
