About the job
Role Objective:
In this role, you connect infrastructure, cloud, workplace, and external services into a reliable whole. You work hands-on on technical solutions, coordinate specialists
and establish clear responsibilities. Together with our IT Circle, you develop an
operational architecture that fits our applications and business processes. You also take
responsibility for ICT vocational training and involve the various
expertise areas of the IT Circle.
Your Mission
- You further develop our infrastructure and operational architecture together with the Circle Lead IT. You connect the requirements of our applications with suitable platforms, comprehensible standards, and economical operation.
- You are responsible for central IT services: Google Workspace, user management, workplace, end devices and peripherals – also in our F-Stores in Europe – as well as networks, servers, and cloud environments. Location-specific IT topics such as telematics and access systems you coordinate with facility management and the responsible partners.
- You ensure effective monitoring, regulated changes, up-to-date systems, backups, and documented recovery procedures. Security measures and recovery tests you implement together with our internal specialist roles and external experts.
- You manage our external infrastructure, cloud, and service partners. You clarify services and responsibilities, check quality, costs, and dependencies, and contribute to the selection of solutions as well as the review and negotiation of service contracts.
- You conduct transparent asset, licence, and contract management. You plan procurements, renewals, and replacements proactively, check services and invoices technically, and provide the basis for budget and forecast.
- You develop our service and support model with clear responsibilities and escalation paths between first, second, and third level. For infrastructure and platform topics, you take on the technical problem-solving and collaborate with colleagues for web, applications, and security along their respective focuses.
- You bring the operational perspective into ERP and application projects. With those responsible, you clarify requirements for environments, interfaces, security, and monitoring and prepare the adoption of new solutions into operation.
- You are responsible for practical ICT vocational training. You plan learning objectives and training assignments, accompany ICT apprentices, and involve other specialists. Besides support and workplace, you enable insights into infrastructure, cloud, applications, and security.
Your Backpack
- You have an IT education at EFZ, HF, or FH level or a comparable qualification and bring several years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure, or IT operations.
- You are familiar with several of our technical topics: Google Workspace, cloud and SaaS, networks, Windows/macOS, device management, identity & access management, as well as backup and recovery.
- You understand how applications, interfaces, and infrastructure interact. You can derive understandable architecture overviews, operational requirements, and concrete improvements from this.
- You have experience working with external IT service providers and keep an eye on services, costs, licences, contracts, and lifecycles alongside the technology.
- You systematically get to the bottom of disruptions, document solutions, and share your knowledge. You pitch in yourself but also know when it makes sense to involve other experts.
- You enjoy supporting people in their development. You already have a qualification as a trainer or are willing to acquire one.
- You communicate fluently in German and confidently in English and can explain technical contexts even without specialist language.
