How you can contribute

• Utilise expertise in fungal pathology to conduct and evaluate biological observations
• Validate and improve forecast models for plant diseases based on field and laboratory observations
• Further develop and expand the national platform Agrometeo+ and its forecasting tools
• Ensure the quality of meteorological and biological data incorporated into the forecasting systems
• Coordinate observation networks, weather stations, and scientific partners
• Provide scientific expertise in fungal pathology, advise users, and contribute to knowledge transfer

What makes you unique

• Bachelor’s degree from a University of Applied Sciences (UAS), diploma from a Higher Technical School (HTS), or an equivalent qualification in phytopathology, biology, agronomy, or biosciences
• Experience in fungal pathology of cultivated plants, both in the field and laboratory, especially in disease diagnosis and biological observations
• Strong interest in digital tools, data management, and forecasting models for agriculture
• Ability to work independently, coordinate activities, and collaborate with partners from science, technology, and IT
• Analytical thinking, organisational talent, and interest in developing innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture
• Knowledge of two official languages and English

The Mycology research group works on innovative research topics to sustainably combat the epidemic spread of fungal diseases. These include i) epidemiological studies, ii) the development of new bio-based fungicides, iii) the development of prediction models, and iv) the use of fungi in degradation processes and mycoremediation.
