We are a larger, internationally active patent law firm headquartered in Basel with a branch office in Buchs/SG and are looking for a

IT Specialist as Sole IT Responsible

to succeed our IT manager who will retire at the beginning of 2027. The versatile range of tasks includes, among others, the following:

- Installation, configuration and maintenance

• of the virtualised Microsoft 2016/2022 server environment with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, print server, IIS, terminal server, iSCSI, etc.
• of Windows 11 clients, peripherals and their software updates
• of the MySQL & MS SQL servers
• of all deployed software such as the industry software Patricia, Sage 200, Office 2024 and much more

- Managing and supporting

• the highly available virtual servers (Citrix XenServer)
• the physical network, including WAN & WLAN, with router, VPN, firewall, storage and other network components
• the IP-based telephony and its peripherals

- Support, expansion and troubleshooting of custom programmed and supplementary tools for our specific industry software with Visual Basic, MS SQL procedures and MS SQL triggers

- Handling and resolving software and hardware issues

- Ensuring availability, performance and security of all systems

- Advising, supporting and training users in their daily work

- Maintaining and adapting the website including the intranet pages

- Performing continuous backup and restore processes
